Hello New Blog!

A new year calls for a new blog, that's my motto. Or it might be, if I decided to start having a motto. Anyway, here we are, at the beginning of January, and I am going to begin a new blog.

My purpose? To document my thrilling transition from penniless English B.A. holder to mighty English teacher! This metamorphosis has been going on since last spring and summer, when I applied and was accepted to the Single Subject Credential Program at San Jose State University and it is in full force now, in my last semester at SJSU and my final phase of student teaching at Columbia Middle School in Sunnyvale California.

"What prompted you to start a blog in the midst of such a stressful transitionary period?" you may well be asking yourself, as you scratch your beard and furrow your brow. Well, I am glad you are so concerned! In fact, rather than be another stressor in my already stressor-filled day, I anticipate that this blog will give me a calming organizational tool. I want to document my hardships and the obstacles I overcome, to be sure, for my own benefit and the benefit of any who might stumble upon this blog and find something useful. But I also want a place where I can organize teaching strategies, resources, and lesson plans, again for everyone's benefit. I look forward to using this blog to organize and document what I've learned, so I can look back and receive a flood of both memories and really good ideas that I forgot about. I encourage any who want to share their insights, ideas, or even (*gasp*) their precious lesson plans to do so, either in the comments section of posts or in an e-mail, if they want a post of their very own to share in.

And with that, off we go!
